The show
No Record is a podcast about growing up Gen X, back when the streetlights coming on was the curfew and nobody took a picture of anything.
No photos, no video, no digital footprint. Just the stories we’ve been telling each other ever since, and a few we haven’t told at all.
The show is still in the ideas stage. Nothing here is recorded yet.
The streetlights came on and that was the curfew. Everything before that was up to us.
If it happened, it happened off the record. This is where we put it on the record.
Some of it was dumb. Some of it was dangerous. All of it stuck.

What’s on the tape
Every Gen X kid has the same handful of memories on rotation: the skateboard with one bad wheel, the garage band that practiced louder than it played, the dubbed tape with the handwriting on the label, the beige computer that took ten minutes to do anything.
That’s the territory. The first episode isn’t recorded yet, so for now, here’s the flyer.

I’ve been around computers since the 80s, which means I’ve seen a lot of “next big things” come and go. I’ve been taking computers apart since before they had mice, and I still get excited when something new actually works.
This show is one more thing I’m building: a place for the stories my generation has been telling each other for years, and never put on any record.
